Art about art --
Within the walls of the MFA are several works where the subjects are engaged either in creating, or observing art. Below are two intriguing music-based paintings, and a stunningly intimate study of an artist and his new wife. Click on the photos to see hi-res versions.
Impressionism --
Perhaps the most popular room in the museum, showcasing American society's most popular art form today, the Impressionist room contains works by Monet, Renoir, and Pissarro, among others. What's most impressive about the works are the intricate brush strokes observed when standing close to the original works. Below, three views of Renoir's Dance at Bougival.
