Labor Day weekend, went camping w/ Clara to Big Sur. She's already blogged about it, so you can read that here: Labor Day Weekend. As it says, we were not going to remember the name of the wine we had w/ dinner, so I took a picture. Again, camera phone comes in useful. (albeit grainy picture in dark). It was a 2000 Roussanne from Alban Estate Vineyards, San Luis Obispo, Edna Valley.

Anyways, this picture is of the mile long walk to the beach @ Andrew Molera SP (State Park), and the impressive thing about it is that I had cell phone reception here... w00t!

Taking San Antonio Ave. to 101 on the way to the city (SF), Jason pointed out that his hosting company (not his company, the one he uses) colo is right near where we were, so being geeky we stopped in...

Jon planned another Arroyo Seco trip. While fun, the weather didn't hold up:

Joshua Marker was back in town and held another brunch. I did not take any pictures there. I did however have Clara take one of me in a tree down the street.

Kathi's birthday in San Mateo. These are the coolest candles ever - the flames of the candles actually match their color!

Driving to San Diego w/ Jason for ToorCon. The (passenger) girl's head in the car in front of us keeps disappearing ;-)

@ ToorCon. I shared a few shots of absinthe w/ some other hackers, and one of them had homemade habanero rum which was impressively spicy and just plain dangerous. Sometime after midnite, a large group of them came up to our room to do whatever it is drunk haxors at a con do... (displaying a projector from one hotel tower to another, geeking out and drinking, raiding storage closets, etc.)

Misc things @ ToorCon... the score board ; the hotel lobby electronic billboard in an endless BSOD reboot loop (we had nothing to do w/ that) ; more drunk shennanigans ; going to the restaurant where they proudly display that the "Top Gun Sleazy Bar Scene Filmed Here July 1985" ; another funny sign @ the restaurant ; the sat nite party ; a bunch of haxors in the back of a van going to "Bodo Con" - usually the sketchy van full of people is trying to cross the Mexican border the *other* way;-) ; drunk haxor getting close and personal w/ the window ; alright, everybody out!
