The last month or so (July 2003), as seen from my phone...
Ok, so this was just one of those images that a camera phone comes in useful...
... no, not the lady's big ass, but the fact that she had the ATM machine open. This was taken @ the ATM by the cafeteria @ work on the 2nd.
And another couple of shots that having a camera phone comes in useful...
Apparently they were worthy enough for John to change his mind about camera phones. These were taken on the 12th after coming back from a robot / pool / birthday / going away party.
The rest of the shots go to prove why in the rest of times, a camera phone is very inferior quality-wise compared to other cameras. I need to replace my digital camera I lost a while back. Anyways...
These were all taken @ Point Reyes at the bottom end of that piece of land that sticks out into the ocean. The view is beautiful, but since it sticks out into the ocean, it gets super windy out there. We went on a mild day, and it was 25-35 MPH winds out ; they get as high as 100 MPH, and have peaked at 133 MPH. Woah!
These 2 were taken near sunset on a beach in Bodega Bay. It is a small town just further North on the CA coast, and is known for being the location where Alfred Hitchcock's "Birds" was filmed.
All the Pt. Reyes and Bodega Bay pics were taken on the 19th.
But again, camera phone comes in handy when you find yourself on top of Apple's headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop (yes, if you look really hard in the first pic below, just to the left of the US flag and the arch, you see me... FWIW, my office is 2 floors down [or 3 floors if you count the roof as the 5th floor] on the 2nd floor, ;-)
The build of Mac OS X that day was broken (which I helped fix enough to be testable...yeay!), and Laura (different Laura than my sister-in-law / brother's wife!) was in SF watching the Giants play, so I went to work for the afternoon on the 20th.
On Friday the 25th I went w/ 2 friends Chris(ton) and Ammon from work to a live venue / bar / club in south-ish SF called the Bottom of the Hill...
Then we ended up in Berkeley at a party of a friend of Ammon's who works @ Pixar.
Sat. the 26th was quite an interesting day. I was going to work in the afternoon, and after doing random things at home, I left my house to head out to work around 3PM. I finally made it to work around 2:30PM the next day ;-) Ok, so some explanation is in order. During random things I was doing @ home, my friend Victor (different Victor than my brother!) called me up and asked if I was up to anything that nite, since his gf was going to go out w/ her female friends, and that he was going to head down to the pool for a bit since it was a nice summer day... I figured sure, pool sounds good... Perhaps I am a bit slow at these things, but it turned out that her friends were also coming by the pool to hang out first before going out, and since they were single, and I was single, he gave me a call... I underestimate him sometimes! Of course, now some of my friends think I am sell out for not calling them, but I swear I was just going over for a short swim, and some of her friends showed up later, so I did not know what was going on, and did not plan on staying late, and they likewise were only hanging out for a short bit before heading out. Knowing my friends, it would have taken them hours to get organized & get there (although maybe they might have been a bit more motivated given the circumstances). Oh well, some of them all met @ the house party, so it's all good...
Sun. the 27th I finally made it to work, and then in the eve. a friend of an ex-coworker Eddy was having a BBQ, so I went along w/ the usual Apple geeks...
I ended up borrowing the book Genome by Matt Ridley from PJ's housemate and read it that week (yeah, I blogged a bit about it on my blog). It took me longer to read than a book normally would, in part because work is busy, and I got a small cold, probably from severely impairing my immune system that weekend.
Ahh, good times, good times...
