'HIP CIRCLES BELLYDANCE VOCABULARY OF TRIBAL CUES"
Katrin Robinson has stepped up to help the troupe to create a list of all the cues which you guys have learnt/created! A great iniciative which will help everyone to keep speaking the same body language, literaly! :)
Let's get it started ladies, please bring your written notes about old and new cues! All to be posted here soon...
WHAT ARE TRIBAL CUES?
Tribal Bellydance dances have a designated leader who uses a predefined set of moves to improvise a dance during a piece of recorded or live music. Different moves can be associated with a cue that the leader performs just prior to switching into that move. Once a move is established, it is repeated until the leader changes slowly to a new move (usually either hips OR arms at one time) or then cues a new move. Tempo is set by the music and interpreted by the leader. Leadership can be changed during the course of a dance, but all the troupe (leaders and followers) must know what each cue means and be able to lead and follow them.
Note: Please note that the cues and moves provided here are not the same as those performed in tribal style bellydance or established by Fat Chance of San Francisco. I respect the creativity of arbitrary groups of dancers and therefore encourage them my students to design their own cued movements. Graziela |

TRIBAL CABARET SUMMER HAFLA, July 07!
Well, that's how our costumes looked like at the last party! New topics about the next party coming soon!
Since almost everyone in the performance troupe has a tribal bra, a head-piece, the gypsy skirt and gloves, it would be nice if everyone worked on a tribaret belt to match your costume. Katrin has come up with an excellent idea for the base of your bra, ask for more details...

NINA'S SUPPORT THEATRE CLASS |
| |
|
|
Many many thanks to Nina's Act Therapy Support Classes at all our events!
The OBJECTIVES of Nina's colaboration to Hip Circles Bellydance School is:
1. To identify and liberate the acting chakras by working with the development of confidence through individual and group improvisations.
2. To free up your mind and body from blocks caused by shyness and fear.
3. To guide the participants of the course to enhance their dance, their acting and their private lives with excercises and techniques of posture, walk, movement and expression.
"May you know the beauty and truth that is who you are,
may you know the wisdom within,
and always listen to and express
the song of your soul."
