The first fusion bellydance school of Ireland open at the heart of Cork city, bringing the bellydance scene in Ireland to another level!

Many teachers at Hip Circles Bellydance School offer a large diversity of bellydance classes including Egyptian Classical, Tribal Fusion, Lebanese, Props classes (veil, cane dancing, candelabrum-candle dancing, fan, sword, fire dance, zils, etc), Latin Fusion/BellySamba and much more! We also have Acting Theraphy as a support for your dance classes!

As well as the classes the school also features workshops with experienced guest teachers, regular haflas, costume teaching... we also have a shop with a great variety of bellydance merchandise for our students to enjoy!

Our common goal as well as our love for the art of BellyDance is to have a school of strong organization constant improvement. We will strive with professionalism and dedication to make all of our events the best. Our quality input in our tasks and responsibilities will only make our events shine with success and our school with commitment and togetherness.

Hip Circles Class Styles Descriptions

Tribal Fusion: a combination of different movements which blends Romany, Flamenco and Indian dances by building up a dance language with a vocabulary of cues and using improvisation with a focus on  troupe work. This style is enhanced by the use of props such as zills (finger bells), veils, swords, skirts, fire-dance etc. A low impact workout that improves muscle toning, flexibility and coordination, a fun way to learn how to shake your hips!

Tribal Gypsy Fusion: blending the firery and romantic moves of Gypsy and Spanish styles with bellydance moves, this is a combination of flamboyant moves that transpires a lot of fun! Rhytmic techniques for students looking to have a good time while working out!

Latin Fusion/BellySamba: From the streets of Latin America come this fast-paced bellydance of latin-arabic rhythms. A great way to stay fit and feel the sun and beaches of the tropics, think carnival! Think lots of hip movements. Think Brazil!

Props Class: Learn to bellydance with a prop such as zills, skirts, veils, swords, candelabrums, fire-dancing, canes, baskets, Isis-wings, fans, etc! This is a perfect class to take as an addition to another.
