Best way to become an Old-Time Fiddler is at a One-on-One Fiddle Camp.

I give One-on-One Fiddle Camps at my beautiful old fashioned county cottage in the hills of Northeastern, Pennsylvania mid May-July. In Florida, November-April or.... at your home or meeting place, Campground, Community Hall etc.. I travel in a Motor Home. I am "On The Road" as a full-time Old-Time Fiddler performing since 1981 and can shedule these around my performance dates and areas.

I met Jehile Kirkhuff, 1954 World Champion Old-Time Fiddler, in 1977. Jehile lived without electricity with his cousin William and had "walking water" not running water (a well out front and a bucket in the kitchen). He and the music he loved and played so well changed my life, my passion, and my carreer. This Sibelius site features transcriptions of many of Jehile's favorite tunes and some he created; I will not say "written" since he did not write them down.

See iTunes Music store and search for Jehile. There is a great CD called Jehile Stands Alone for sale by downloading one tune at a time or the Album. At cdbaby.com/Jehile, you can listen and buy the real Cd with historical information. A colletor's item recentlt reviewed in STRINGS MAGAZINE.

Visit jehile.com click on Notation/TAB. On the new page click, left column, Notation/TAB. You will end up at Sibeliusmusic.com where these transriptions are stored. You can even click the "play" arrow and listen as you read the notes or TAB for Mandolin/Fiddle.

Then, at jehile.com click on Tunes/mp3 and you will be taken to a "public folder" (click Music Us and Jehile) and you will see alphabetical folders of Jehile playing a total of about 270 tunes. These are alphabetical folders and MAY TAKE SOME TIME TO LOAD FOR DIAL-UP USERS) Be patient.

Along with my transcriptions at Sibeliusmusic.com, you can develop a version of your own of any of these tunes; that is what has happened throughout the history of Fiddle music. I have about 90 tunes uploaded to this page so far and have over 35,000 hits; its all free as of now. Even printing. We can listen to many players of the same tune and the versions are always at least somewhat different if not a lot different. When you can, send me an email of YOUR version. I would like to hear it !

Contact me if you can help me be a better transcriber or for more information on my performances, One-on-One Fiddle Camps, lectures; or about my ol' buddy Jehile Kirkhuff.
