Short of raising them to moths, I don't know how I'm going to identify all the inchworms.

(Lexington, 6/4/06 3pm) This poor guy turned out to be parasitized. The eggs (I presume) are just visible as grey blotches about midbody.

(Lexington, 6/6/06 3pm) Scale in mm.
(Lexington, 6/6/06 3pm) I think this is a butterfly caterpillar, but I'm not sure yet. It was found on an oak tree trunk. In this photo, it was trying to curl up around a small twig (hidden under it). In an effort to let it relax, I fell asleep with my son. When I awoke 1/2 hour later, I couldn't find it on my desk. It never reappeared!
(Lower Vine Brook, 8/30/08 1pm)
(Lower Vine Brook, 9/20/08 1pm) On Evening Primrose.
