For those of you that haven't heard, Brad Herrold, (photo above) the turf manager for Earthscapes was in a very bad car accident on March 30th, 2005. Brad is lucky to have escaped the accident with only a broken foot, but as a result, he will be on leave until at least September. We wish him a speedy recovery and until his return, customers will have to put-up with my best attempts at Brad's high levels of customer service. |

Summer is here! Time to start thinking about water and mowing practices. Most experts reccommend that you cut your lawn between 2" - 2.5" at this time of the year. I find that taller grass plants usually have deeper roots. Deep roots are more successful at finding water during the Summer dry months. This means a greener, more healthy looking lawn. I have already completed two applications to most of your lawns. This means that your lawns should be green and relatively weed free. If your lawn fits this description, there is no need to cut it short. Let it get a little longer and reap the rewards of a greener lawn this summer. |

Summer means heat and grubs. Grab a cool drink to deal with the heat and let the grubs to Earthscapes. The next application most of you will receive will be a light fertilization and a grub control product. This application will give your lawn a little boost, and prevent you from having dead patches of lawn due to grubs feeding on the grass roots. Timing is critical on this application, as we want to have the product down when the grubs begin to feed. Look for application starting in the second week of June and ending before July 1st. |
