Zaurus Mac
Sync works with OpenZaurus V3.2 running OPIE V1.0 and Mac OSX V
10.3. It may work with other set ups, but that is the
set up I am using.
Currently Zaurus Mac Sync
syncs the Address Books. It does a true sync and not just
a copy. For example, if a phone number is changed on the Zaurus
after the last sync and it has not been changed on the OS X Address
Book, it will be updated on the OS X Address Book and vice versa.
There is a sync master setting, but it is only used if the same
entry is changed in both Address Books since the last sync.
I amworking on using
AppleScript to read the iCal ToDo list and passing that information
in to the Cocoa application so I can use the same sync engine.
I plan to do the same for the iCal Calendar.
Zaurus Mac Sync is
still in development stage. You could lose data, so please
back up before you try to sync. The OS X Address Book
can be backed up by clicking on the File Menu and selecting
Back Up Database. Trust me, it works very well. The
Zaurus Address Book can be backed up by going in to a File Manager
on your Zaurus and navigating to the /root/Applications/addressbook
directory and copying addressbook.xml to another location.
Make sure you have Fast
Load turned off on the Zaurus Address Book. To check hold the stylus
down on the Address Book icon on the Zaurus until the Properties
window comes up. If Fast load is checked, uncheck it and hit the
OK button in the upper right corner.
