The
Antioch ESPACE Academy is a local and regional center for standards-based
astronomy education at all grade levels.
The
Academy provides students with a motivational venue
for learning about science
through research or outreach oriented projects based on instruction
in earth science, astronomy and space science.
How to Apply to the Academy
Download and print all of these forms, fill them out and turn in as a
packet to Jeff Adkins.
For 2008, the forms are due by March 15.
Note: The number of forms required has been greatly reduced from the
past.
Associate Membership: Associate members of the academy take 3 years of
science.
Full Membership: Full Members take 3 years of science.
Project: Academy members propose and carry out a project in either research
or outreach.
There are no particular GPA requirements or prerequisites for academy
membership. All that is required is a UC/CSU compatible schedule and
3 or 4 years of science plus a project!
The internet will be used extensively in the academy so permission
to use the internet at school is needed. You do not need this form
if you have internet access permission granted already.
Student work may be published in journals, web sites, or other
venues. This gives us permission to use student work. Please, if
you don't mind, give us indefinite permission so we can use your
work for future students as examples.
