Larry Cat In Space

"Larry Cat in Space" is a playful and imaginative presentation about an inquisitive cat who takes a trip to the moon. Through Larry's eyes, we meet his human family, a group of enthusiastic sky-watchers. One of his family members is Diana, who goes to work on the Moon as a lunar geologist. Larry misses Diana, so he figures out a way to get to the Moon and live with her. He smuggles himself on board the space plane, which takes him to Space Station Freedom. From there, he is taken aboard the Lunar Shuttle, and he eventually ends up on the Moon, surprising Diana, meeting the rest of the Moon base inhabitants, and learning about life in the Moon's environment.

Earth's Wild Ride

This full-dome projection show shows the Earth at different times in the Earth's life. The movie shows different clips as you rush past obstacles, down rivers, and up mountains. The movie shows a mountain exploding (Mt. Etna in Sicily), a flash flood, and the ice age (as well as the extinction of the dinosaurs.)

Hubble Vision

The Educational focus of this show is to present the discoveries made by the Hubble Space Telescope, explaining the objects it has observed and the processes that shape the cosmos. This is done via a set of multidisciplinary themes woven throughout the program. These ideas help relate the information presented in the show to the lives of students and their families. The language level is appropriate for students at the middle-school level and above, as well as the general public.

Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity

Narrated by Liam Neeson, this show produced by Spitz Inc. and provided to us by Sonoma State University's NASA Education and Public Outreach office shows the latest graphics interpreting the question of what it would be like to fall into a black hole.

What's Up?

After every program we present a short tour of the night sky and relate what will be visible when vistors leave the planetarium. This includes common constellations, legends about constellations, and the occasional nebula or galaxy visible from backyard telescopes. These shows are written by students and presented live.
