This was at the MACC on the 25th. I prep'd everything on the 24th, so we were set and ready to go a few hours before doors...
This one was interesting cause I had to share the deck (for the second half of the show). I was stage hand, and handled it just fine. We had about 15 bands to switchout between 14:00 and 19:00. I had everything flowing perfectly - absolutely on time to the second (for about the first 10 switchouts)...
Then my Stage Manager had to step in - basically, from that point on, the whole show was a free-for-all. I'm too fumming to get into too much detail, but literally, from the second the "Stage Manager" stepped on deck, we were a half-an-hour late...
All I'm gonna say about it is what I have said - it was running fine, and then it was not...
We actually had to cancel a few of the last acts cause we ran out of time - that just doesn't cut it in my book...
I found out a lot about the person though - I can tell everything I ever need to know about a person by working on deck with them for a day. So, something good came out of the day - I realize that this person has been fooling everyone (including self) for a long time. Just knowing that helps me - cause I now know this person's technical level. So (if there is a) next time, I know what needs to be done... |
