| Kinda Funny - OK, A Little | | Date Created: Oct 01, 2005, 11:34 PM |
I just spent a week at the Ritz over in Kaanapali and I can't remember the group. I really don't have a good explanation for it - I wasn't running around that much. I had to help out on a few issues here and there, with getting a presentation to do it's thing on the computer, but it was all simple stuff (just a little running from room to room). I just don't remember what the groups name was...
I remember what the content was (I'm not going to tell you), but I don't remember the name of the group. So weird!
Last night kinda sucked because when I was ready to leave, I got in my wife's truck and tried to start it and it didn't even turn over. You gotta understand that this same thing just happened to me a few weeks ago at the Grand Wailea. Evidently, one of the doors was left slightly ajar - just enough to drain the battery for the 10 hours it was in the parking lott. Luckily, after walking around the truck and bumping all the doors closed, I got an internal light. Once I saw that, I saw it wasn't completely hopeless - so I went to security and they were able to jump the truck...
I was very stoked because my wife was actually on the way to get me with the kids (the whole thing happened just as she was about to put them to bed). So the family was able to turn around and go home - but she actually drove halfway, waited for me, and followed me home just in case (does my wife rock, or what)...
The truck charged (from about 10% to 85%) while on the way home. As luck would have it there are very few lights that time of night and the drive itself took about an hour. Plenty of time to charge that battery...
Again, stoked, cause I had to be at the Marriot by 07:00 this morning to turn on a room for a presentaion in one of their breakout rooms for the County Planning Commission. This morning, I got in the truck, and it actually started - very stoked...
I really have to fix my truck - just need the time to put the fuel pump in it. Since I don't have the time, I'll probably get someone else to do it - I hate doing that, cause it's a relatively simple thing to do...
Anyway, I can't remember the group name - I'll ask one of the guys when I pick up my computer on Monday...
By the way, during this show I had a lot of time to finally get some reading done (I had a stack of unread-magazines that is no longer unread). So I will probably be writing more often in the next few weeks as I mull over some of the things that caught my eye; such as Linux, Microsoft, Internet Security, Virus & Worm Issues, and Mac's move to Intel, for starters... |
