| CATS & Schwab... | | Date Created: Apr 27, 2005, 10:38 AM |
We struck CATS at the MACC sunday night - it was a pretty quick strike, but that was expected. For the large shows like that (STOMP, CATS, those big productions) the MACC will bring in 20-60 freelancers for the set and strike. The production usually travels with its own crew of 2-5 who know the set, and all the freelancers break into teams to back up the productions guys. The sets and strikes go really fast for these things...
Been doing the Charles Schwab Institutional President's Club gig at the Kea Lani the last few days - I'm actually in the show as I write this (it will be struck, and they will be gone, by the time you read this posting). Basically I'm just running a small video rig with a few computers. One thing I have to add is that all their people are cool. From my contact for tech to the VP's up on the stage - everyone was really good to work with. Easy gig...
Charles Schwab's keynote speaker was Dewitt Jones (the National Geographics photographer), I worked with him a few times before and really enjoyed each time. He's a nice guy with a good stage presence who throws a great show (both the short and long versions of it)... |
