I love days like today - I started off at the Outrigger with an Audio, Video, & Lighting Setup & Show and went straight from there to an Audio Lighting show. Sole tech on both shows. Kinda cool to run two shows solo in the same day - come to think of it, I didn't have to strike either one. WOW! Total "white glover" today!
I'm getting spoiled over here! Only one snag on the whole day - but we don't talk about those anymore (they've become so commonplace that it's expected now). Just learn to expect the worse - that way you'll always have a good day, on this island, in this business...
I'm gonna get a digital camera to take pics of the shows I setup and run for those of you who keep requesting pics...

Also, updated "April 2005 News" again (it's in the "Latest News" button above and to the left) - I try to do it daily, so it's a good idea to check back now and again. Even if I don't write anything for the day, I usually update the news page...
I got a question for ya - if I put up all our gripes (meaning "we" the freelancers) do you think anyone would care? Or do you think I would just kill my chances of working in this business again?
I ask this because I am getting a lot of input from you guys saying I should start cronicling (I know this is spelled wrong) our adventures (mishaps) here online and I don't think this is the forum for it...
We (as freelancers) depend on that phone call to feed our families, and there are some really vindictive individuals out there who would take me off their call sheet just for trying to help them and their business operate better...
I know we have let things go to far without saying anything (with company "A"), but if we really want something done we should really get together and write it all out, sign it, and give it to the proper individual. Besides, it would carry much more weight if we all did it. Who cares what I say in this little blog that no one reads (well not "no one")...
I'll do it - but I'm not gonna do it here, by myself, with no net. It's kinda uncool to even ask me to, ya know? I got a family to feed... |
