VHS-to-MP4

So, now that I've burned just about all of my DVD's to MP4's with subtitles - the subtitles are important to me because I can not turn the sound on while watching these things about 50% of the time - I'm gonna do the same with my VHS tapes...

I just got, and am still waiting, for the TVMax. This will take any video input and allow me to burn it to just about any format I want via my Mac. The problem is finding a VHS deck which will turn the subtitles on - I use to have a few, but they seem to be non-existent now-a-days.
I thought I had found one, with one of those dual DVD-VHS decks, but it turns out that the subtitles controls are only for the DVD side of the deck...

If anyone has any info on a VHS deck which will play with subtitles, please contact me...

Another cool thing about the TVMax is the ability to watch TV and record - TiVo like - right on your computer
