| Getting Back into Programming... | | Date Created: Nov 25, 2005, 10:59 PM |
I've just started getting back to basics with C++. I'm actually really getting into XCode Tools and all the wonderful things you can do in there. Supposedly you can write Objective-C and C++ to work together in the same script. They can actually call each other. I have yet to find any real material on Objective-C - if anyone knows of a good source, other than Apples website, please let me know...
I'm been pretty consistent in HTML, Javascript and Perl (mostly for the web) in the last 10 years) - so it shouldn't be to hard to pick up another language.
The last "program" I wrote was about 5 years ago, and it was in C++. I just need to catch up to the latest and greatest code - a little refresher course - but I know nothing about Objective-C. Could I write the whole thing in Perl, save it into XCode Tools and have it spit the C++/Objective-C back out at me?
I do this with HTML/Javascript and XML all the time (simply save the page into OpenOffice.org and then "Save As" an XML document - there's a bit more to it than this, but not much) - I was kinda hoping that there was something that does the Perl to C++/Objective-C for me (cause I'm really proficient in Perl)...
Anyway, any ideas, or info, out there - please slip me an email... |
