| Tiger and X11 | | Date Created: Oct 05, 2005, 11:15 PM |
So I finally had time to play with my computer a little last week and found that X11 was hidden on the Tiger install disk. Totally stoked about it, cause I was going through fink, gimp, and ethereal withdrawals...
All of these programs are now up and running on my Mac - and I am extremly "pleased"...
I found one pretty cool hack called gimpshop - this guy took the gimp and made it so that it has the look and feel of photoshop. It has made it so much easier for me to use! I'm an old Photoshop guy myself, so this just sold me on The Gimp. It does everything Photoshop does! And it's free!
I'm even putting it on my rental laptops in case anyone needs a photo editor. This hack runs on Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac - and it runs exactly the same on all of them. This is cool for me, because I use multiple OS's, it's nice to have at least one program that works the same in all environments (actually three, ethereal and openoffice.org being the other two)... |
