So, since I don't see one coming anytime soon - I'm gonna make one. I figure, since Mac is now going Intel, it's time to buy as many machines as possible (and as many spare parts as possible) so I can just keep the ppc going for as long as possible.
Since I'm gonna have all those spare parts around, I'm gonna make my own Mac Tablet by mounting my monitor on my 17" powerbook so it's facing out. Taking out the keyboard so heat will have somewhere to escape, and adding more power inside the thing while I'm in there. Juice up the HD, RAM, and processor. I may add a few more ports, but really don't see the need for it at this point. To make it a touch screen, I'm going to mount the "TouchStar Slipcover" over the screen. Then all I have to do is get a good "on screen keyboard" for the OS (to make up for the one I got rid of) and I can type directly on the screen...
Let you know how it goes - I don't have any spare parts to play with yet, but as soon as I do I'm gonna be on this project hard core... |
