MS new OS may be BS...

Kinda funny - no one cares about Longhorn. That is no one, but MS and those who get paid by MS to market the product for them. I remember, as a computer consultant, how hard it was to get people to upgrade from WIN95 to WIN2000PRO (WIN98 and ME never really counted as OS's in my book). Most of my clients have not even made the move to XP yet (come to think of it XP Home doesn't really count as an OS either) - they haven't had the need for it yet...

With all the iPods out there, the price of the Mac Mini driving people into the Mac stores (where they will hopefully buy more than a Mini), and Mac's newest version of their OS coming out in a few weeks - what is to get excited about at MS? Mac has always had the better product, Steve Jobs will not release a product unless it's up to his specs and battle tested to his standards...
With Steve at the helm, Apple has always had the better product. Of course, they costed more, but they more than made up for the price in security, stability, reliability, and usability. Now that the Mac pricing is comparable to Windows machines, it's a steal - to get a better computer for the same price...

Now (that the price has dropped) there's no excuse not to have a Mac...

The Mini Mac was such a great move! I was stoked for them when I first heard about it - what a great move! It not only capitalizes on the iPod's success, but just the thought of a $500 Mac is enough to get more people to at least go check one out. You never know, while they're at the Apple Store something else might just catch their eye...

The only marketing I've ever seen which topped it was how Mel marketed "The Passion of the Christ"...

It's all about viral marketing - getting other people to talk about your product. I should add that these other people should be actual consumers of the product, not someone who is paid to market it. In the offline world, it's called "Word-of-Mouth"...

It's how guys like me actually make a living - so we know a bit about it. We know enough to know that you can not make it happen. The only thing you can do is work your butt off to offer the best product and/or service out there, hope that someone notices and calls, hope that they liked what they got, and hope that they tell their friends...

As a mater of fact, my writing this, and your reading this, is a form of viral marketing for Apple. I'm just one consumer telling another consumer how much I love the product I bought from "So-and-So", ya know?

Anyway, I'm still a little weird from yesterday (notice the strange sentence every now and again?). I'll go now...

Happy April Fools Everyone!!!
