| My niece... | | Date Created: Jul 06, 2006, 05:55 PM |
As most of you know by now, my niece is missing...
A lot of you are asking me for information and updates - so here it goes. She was last seen at home in Haiku (in the housing tract across the street from the community center) on Monday. She is approximately 5 foot 2, and skinny. She has naturally blonde hair which is usually dyed a dark color - and she had her head shaved about a month ago (it's about a half an inch long now)...
Anyway, after two days of nothing, I started looking myself (yesterday). Basically, I got nothing. But I was able to get some information from the MPD guys at the Paia Substation. I found out that the report was filed that day - two days after the fact (kind of hinky to me) - and a name of an associate...
I gave the information to friends and family and sat by the phone for the night. In the meantime, my Dad went by the Paia Substation to confirm my findings (and see if there was anymore information). He could not find them anywhere - he tried calling the MPD directly and couldn't manage to talk to a person (he even tried 911). So we decided to make flyers with my cell number - so it was sure to be answered and responded to quickly...
Today, my Mom hit Haiku, my wife Paia (and emailed a lot of people), and I went to town to hit the radio stations, newspapers, City Hall, and the main PD.
Anyway, from all of this we found out:
1) There is no 48 hour waiting period to do the report - why they waited two days, I have no idea (I would like to know though - I'd also like to know who waited)...
2) I found out the name and address of the "associate" I had heard about yesterday - as well as his parents names...
3) I also found a little spot in my sisters backyard where, the neighbors say, approximately three days ago this little camp was set up - they had not seen anyone though (so it was probably just a spot for nights)...
Here is the really wacky part, as I was going to the neighbors to check it out my Mom and Wife called me to tell me that my sister was hitching a ride home from work cause she could not handle being there today. Anyway, she called my Mom cause she wanted a ride and my Mom called me cause my sister and I do not talk - she didn't want us running into each other. My Mom didn't go but did tell her about the flyers and my driving around all day - that call was at 13:28 according to my phone record...
I checked out the "camp" from the neighbors yard - great spot. Right in the middle of a bunch of banana trees. There's a bed, clothes and hats hanging from the fence, and a perfect view of the house...
So, I called the PD, and the guy in charge of the case said that she had been found. A few minutes later I got a phone call from his boss - the LT. She said Tiffany was found and turned over to her mother at 13:08. My parents have yet to get a phone call from my sister saying that she has Tiffany...
I called the LT back at around 17:00 and left a message with her that something isn't right and totally doesn't add up here. I asked her to call me back as soon as she or one of her people have actually seen my niece with their own eyes...
I am still waiting for that call - and my parents are still waiting for a call from my sister... |
