Here's a pic from 04-16-05 (yesterday) of Dave Hakes I, D.V. Hakes II, and Kana`ialohanaHakes III. So you have Mua (first), Lua (second), and Kolu (third). You can also, although it's not proper hawaiian for birth order, say 'Ekahi or 'Akahi (for one), 'Elua or 'Alua (for two), and 'Ekolu or 'Akolu (for three)...
Lua also means toilet - so let's not go there...
This pic was at Rice park up toward Haleakala, right off the highway, about a click before reaching the turnoff to up up the hill. The ground was pretty steep, hence no background at all...
Little side note: You know where they hold that golf tournament here every year? It's always the first one of the year. The Mercedes Golf Tournament in Kapalua. Well Kapa means paper, and lua means toilet. I wonder if they knew that before signing on... |
