Recap of the Past Month

Wow... let's see if I can get my thoughts in order.  I feel like life has been non-stop since I last updated almost a month ago.  We're getting ready to release Episode 4 over at Issues, grad. school has been working my brain, hours at Apple are down, and I'm in the process of trying to get a second job to pay the bills.

I spent the first weekend of February at the New York Comic Con with the rest of the Issues cast and crew.  Talk about exhausting.  As exhibitors, we got there before the visitors every day, and couldn't go until the last guest had left the floor.  Add in transit time, and they were some long, but extremely fun days.  I spent most of my time at the table while Scott was busy networking.

I'm learning the beginnings of Photoshop in my production class right now.  I can do a semi-decent cut-out and apply layer effects, as well as change the color of a given part of an image.  Once my copy of CS4 finally comes, I'll dive head first into some extensive Photoshop and Dreamweaver work.  For now, prepare yourself for some nice, artsy photography to start gracing the site.  I've taken the pictures page down for now, until I have something of substance to put there.  That will happen soon.

Other than that, I'll probably become involved in a project to start educating media organizations how to report on environmental issues as part of my Sustainability & Communications Course.  Right now we are still discussing the basic premise of the project.  As things continue, I'll be sure to keep you updated.

What else?  Well, hours at Apple are up and down.  We're desperately understaffed in the training area, when you consider our existing customers, as well as everyone who received memberships for the holidays, plus people trying to learn new computer skills to help bolster their resumés.  We're trying to accommodate as many people as possible given our current resources.  I'm also getting a second job (hopefully) since hours are crazy, and Issues isn't a paid job.  The plan is to put my teaching certification (yes, I was a teacher in a previous life) back to use working on SAT prep. and reading/writing skills at my local Huntington Learning Center.

Most recently, I uploaded the trailer for A Passing Afternoon into my Vimeo account.  It's not linked on the reel page until I can collect the money for a Vimeo Pro account, which will let me embed HD here on the site.  So head on over (links are to the right!) and have a look.  I'll be in touch soon!

Thanks for stopping by! - Michelle
