Well, we called wrap on the production phase on November 30th, when we shot the last scene of the season. Today we finally wrapped editing and release. Episode 7 of Issues released roughly 90 minutes ago. I think I'm in shock right now, but by tomorrow I'll be breathing a sigh of relief. At least temporarily. (Actually, I'll be spending tomorrow planning and possibly shooting the autobiography that's due in 1 week, not the 2 I thought.)
Scott told me I had survived the marathon. I told him it wasn't so much a marathon as a death mark, and we just happened to survive. It took us 8 months to go from casting to release. Looking back, or rather, looking forward, there's a lot we'll do differently next time around. Better scheduling, better definition of roles and responsibilities. A better awareness of the structural weaknesses of the shooting locale...
For now though, I'll be working on the autobiography, then possibly lying low for a week or two. We'll see. Hey, what do you know. Only about 15 more minutes until the 116.41 GB of files that makes up Season 1 are finishing copying off my portable external and on to my desktop external. No reason to keep it portable. Won't be dusting it off for a little while now. That doesn't mean I'll be totally without anything to do. Plenty of other stuff still on the horizon. We'll see how fast it moves towards me.
