Well, there's a lot going on in my work life right now. Episode 2 of Issues was just released on Wednesday. I definitely recommend watching it at our website, since YouTube's quality is lower and time restrictions meant we had to split the episode into two parts. You can watch it in its entirety and in high res. on the show's site.
Classes start next week for me. I'm weighing which classes to take and which to seek exemptions from based on my rather advanced editing knowledge when compared with some of the other students. The week after that, I'll be at the New York Comic Con for three days with the cast and crew of Issues drumming up interest in our little corner of the web.
In addition, I've been makes some changes to the demo reel. I'm in the process of moving my reel over to Vimeo, which will let me embed the videos on website instead of hosting them straight from my hard drive, as was the case with my opener to The Skin of Our Teeth, Act III. The result is kinder on my hard drive, and gives me a site to direct people to where they can see all my work. It will be up-to-date in about two weeks. As a free Vimeo user, I can only upload 1 HD file a week. This weeks was the Zeke Promo, next week will be the Issues Trailer, and the week after will be the DVD lead-in created for A Passing Afternoon, both of which are HD videos. At the moment, the Issues files here within the Show Reel page are still linked from LibSyn. This is because, while Vimeo does play HD, the players that would be embedded on this site would be SD. You would have to follow the link to my Vimeo page to watch the episode in HD. I'm still deciding how I feel about that. I'll probably upload .mp4 versions of the HD footage to Vimeo as well, so I can embed things on the site that will be the highest quality possible.
After that, things will probably be a little quieter. Issues episodes will continue rolling out every two weeks until the Season 1 finale on April 1st. I will hopefully have some new projects to show in the late spring or early summer. I may actually produce something of value from my intro. level production course, and am hoping that by late spring, things will be rolling on the next couple projects I'll be involved in. More info. on them, however, once they're closer to happening. For now, I'll keep editing Issues, which, lots of color correction aside, is a pretty easy job. If your interested in brining me in to work on any other projects, just drop me a line at dunlap7@mac.com with the details so we can discuss pricing and scheduling.
