1961 Pearson Triton #329 |
Our 1961 Pearson Triton has been lovingly maintained and upgraded over the years. She is a wonderful boat to sail and she takes care of her crew when things get rough. Many of her sisterships have circumnavigated, and the Triton was inducted in the Sailboat Hall of Fame in 1995. The very active owners' association has more historical data on its web page, as well as a treasure trove of technical information and maintenance tips. Some notable maintenance and improvement projects we completed:
The boat has a large inventory of sails: 2 mains, 2 genoas (120 and 130), 2 jibs (100 and storm), 1 spinnaker, and the corresponding running rigging. A new Harken traveller and adjustable backstay were added in 2002, and the running rigging was replaced. The winches were upgraded to 2 #22, well above the original spec's and greatly reducing the amount of strength necessary to trim the genoa. |
