Cornell Campbell
Wackies 7"
A classic tale of love gone bad from the one and only Cornell Campbell. Released by New York based producer Lloyd "Bullwackie" Barnes, this 7" features a wicked dub on the flip. First recorded in JA by The Uniques with Slim Smith on lead vocals, this song is based on "You Always Hurt Me" by The Impressions. This may be the only time Campbell voiced for Barnes, although some controversy exists over the "legitimacy" of the vocal. The rhythm, however, is strictly a Wackies production. Thanks to Penny Reel and Juha Vaahtera for the discographical information. As far as I know, this song has not been reissued and is not currently available.
