IPCC report on climate change was watered down by government agents

New Scientist reported that the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was "watered down when governments became involved in writing it." Many references in an earlier draft written by scientists about the potential for faster climate change were reported to have been omitted from the final version approved by representatives of more than 100 governments.

David Wasdell, an independent analyst who acted as an accredited reviewer of the report is quoted as saying, "The evidence of collusional suppression of well-established and world-leading scientific material is overwhelming." He has published a report on the web entitled "Political Corruption of the IPCC Report?"

Peter Wadhams, who discovered that the Arctic ice has thinned 40% over the past 25 years, said, "The public needs to know that the policy-makers' summary, presented as the united words of the IPCC, has actually been watered down in subtle but vital ways by governmental agents before the public was allowed to see it."

Wasdell charges that all references to feedback systems and to accelerated climate change have been watered down or omitted from the final report.
