Ford stockholders overwhelmingly approve LGBT nondiscrimination policy

The shareholders of Ford Motor Co. rejected a shareholder proposal to remove sexual orientation from the company's nondiscrimination policy at the company's annual meeting last week.

PlanetOut reported that the shareholders of Ford voted by an overwhelming 95% to keep the nondiscrimination policy for LGBT employees. LGBT employees at Ford receive extensive domestic partner benefits, comparable to married employees. Ford also requires all employees to attend diversity training related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
