Help the survivors of the Asia Earthquake and Tsunami 


Oxfam America, the Boston-based international relief and development organization, announced a $5 million dollar appeal in support of the Asia Earthquake Fund. 

Donations to the Asia Earthquake Fund can be make online, by phone (1-800-77-OXFAM), or by mailing a check to Oxfam America, Asia Earthquake Fund, P.O. Box 1211, Albert Lea, MN 56007-1211.

Oxfam is asking people to donate online if at all possible because their phone lines are swamped. Oxfam America has raised over $6.5 million in online donations since Dec. 26. Oxfam International has raised over $27 million. The crisis isn't going to be over anytime soon.

Relief operations by Oxfam staff are under way in four of the countries worst hit by the massive tsunami that is known to have killed more than 124,000 people.

Many charitable organizations are providing emergency relief in Southeast Asia. To avoid giving money to a fly-by-night "charity" that may not really be helping, check out the list of responsible organizations at the American Institute of Philanthropy web site.
