Thousands of pets are said to be stranded and starving to death in New OrleansThe

reported, "Hundreds [of pets] have drowned in
the flood waters, their carcasses littering the city, and the yelps and cries of
countless others echo through the deserted streets of New
Orleans."
According to the
Telegraph,
"Thousands of pets are stranded and starving to death, their owners dead or
forced to abandon them as they were evacuated to emergency
shelters."
