New York City forces foster children to test experimental drugs for big drug companies

According to the BBC ("New York's HIV experiment"), the City of New York has been forcing HIV+ children (orphans and foster children) under their control to take experimental HIV drugs (supplied by major drug manufacturers such as Glaxo SmithKline) that make them sick and that have been described as "lethal". These children are essentially being used as guinea pigs against their will.

The children had been enrolled in the secret drug trials without the consent of their relatives or guardians. Foster parents who take the children in their care off the drugs lose the children and are charged with child abuse.

The reason the City and the drug companies get away with this is because these are poor children from poor families with no money for high priced lawyers to defend their rights. Over 23,000 children are under the control of the City's Administration for Chilren's Services and almost 99% are black or hispanic.

The BBC says that this has been going on for years and continues today.
