Nationwide screenings of Eyes on the Prize are happening today

Eyes on the Prize, a famed documentary of the Black civil rights movment, is largely unavailable because of copyright restrictions, but today it is being given guerrilla screenings by activists across the country.

Find out if there is a screening near you at the Eyes on the Screen web site. The copyright situation that has led to the unavailability of new copies of this film was described in an article in Wired.

Update (Feb. 9): downhillbattle.org reports that over 100 screenings of Eyes on the Prize took place on Feb. 8. People are being encouraged to continue screenings throughout February, which is Black History Month.
