Imax films threatened by creationists 


The Observer reported that in the U.S. some "Imax cinemas — including some at science museums — are refusing to show movies that mention the subject [of evolution] or suggest that Earth's origins do not conform with biblical descriptions." The targeted films include Cosmic Voyage, Galapagos, and Volcanoes of the Deep Sea. 

The Observer said the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History decided not to show Volcanoes of the Deep Sea after some test viewers complained that "the theory of evolution is presented as fact". The Observer noted, "It is expected that producers will be far less likely to make films that could offend fundamentalists, as the loss of venues in the southern states could be enough to turn profits to loss."
