Brokeback Mountain gets eight Oscar nominations


Brokeback Mountain has been nominated for awards in eight categories by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Brokeback Mountain got Oscar nominations for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Lead Actor (Heath Ledger), Best Supporting Actor (Jake Gyllenhaal), Best Supporting Actress (Michelle Williams), Best Cinematography (Rodrigo Prieto), Best Directing (Ang Lee), Best Original Score (Gustavo Santaolalla), and Best Screenplay (Larry McMurtry & Diana Ossana).

Meanwhile, Brokeback Mountain has been banned in China, according to PlanetOut Network.
