Brokeback Mountain finally opens in Pittsburgh

Brokeback Mountain will finally be showing in Pittsburgh, opening tomorrow (Fri.) at Loews Waterfront Theatre and at the Manor Theatre in Squirrel Hill.

Brokeback Mountain has been banned in two theaters in the U.S.

It was banned by Regal Cinemas in Poulsbo, Washington.

It was banned by the management of the Megaplex in Salt Lake City. Mike Thompson, executive director of Equality Utah said, "It's just a shame that such a beautiful and award-winning film, with so much buzz about it, is not being made available to a broad Utah audience because of personal bias."

You can hear Willie Nelson sing "He Was a Friend of Mine" from the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack by visiting this web page. The soundtrack fits the story really well.
