The Phantom of the Opera beats Cats

National Public Radio reported that Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera "became the longest-running show in Broadway history" yesterday.

It's 7,486 shows over nearly 18 years beat the record previously held by Cats. NPR said that 11 million people have seen the show, which is "still playing at near capacity".
