Mac OS X (Tiger) 10.4 — Dictionary

There is a new dictionary application in Tiger based on the New Oxford American Dictionary and the Oxford American Writers Thesaurus.

This is a valuable application backed up by a very respectable dictionary that has been compared in quality to the American Heritage Dictionary. You can control-click on a word, select Look Up in Dictionary and be shown the most common usage of the word in a small window. Selecting "more" in that window will take you to the full entry in the Dictionary application. If you don't know how to pronounce a word, control-click on it and select Speech–>Start Speaking.
