ESA's SMART-1 probe may prove the U.S. Apollo missions landed on the moon

Space.com reported that the European Space Agency's SMART-1 probe currently in orbit around the Moon has been photographing the Apollo landing sites and "may put to rest conspiratorial thoughts that U.S. astronauts didn't go the distance and scuff up the lunar landscape."

Space.com noted, "Fringe theorists have said images of the waving flag -- on a Moon with no atmosphere -- and other oddities show that NASA never really went to the Moon."

A serious skeptic will be as likely to reject photos from the ESA's SMART-1 orbiter as the earlier photos from NASA.
