Comet Machholz is visible in the evening sky in the Northern
Hemisphere
If Pittsburgh should ever have a clear evening
sky, Comet Machholz is visible with binoculars in the East / South East about
56ยบ above the horizon at 6:00 pm and rising in the sky to directly overhead
by 8:32 pm. The constellation Orion is below it on the horizon at 6:00 pm.
Under truly dark skies, the comet is a naked eye object.
