Influentials
The disproportionate impact of a few lies at the heart of much recent critical attention directed toward one online information medium: blogging.
Only 9% of online Americans read political blogs frequently or sometimes during the 2004 presidential campaign, but even small percentages can exert disproportionate effect:
- “Online Political Citizens” only 7% of population but nearly 7 times more likely to serve as opinion leaders among friends, relatives & colleagues
