vienna 2.2 is out

I've blogged in the past about the open-source RSS newsreader Vienna, and now that version 2.2 was released yesterday, it's even better. It's always been a great RSS newsreader, but now Vienna can accept new subscription input from a site URL. In other words, rather than searching around for the XML or Atom feed link, you can just copy the URL for a site, hit New Subscription and Vienna does the rest. You can group feeds into folders, and Vienna supports smart folders. It has its own browser that uses WebKit, just like Safari, and is also tabbed. I could go on about it, but you get the idea. There is a great community behind Vienna, and updates seem to come pretty readily. Oh, and did I mention it's free?
