Swimming

Ive been very busy with swimming lately, I recently moved up to the next divsion for one day a week. Last weekend, March 30 and April 1, i had a swim meet. I had a few things to correct in my Freestyle, and 1 or 2 things to correct in my Breaststroke and Butterfly. I did Freestyle first, on Saturday March 30, and took 3 seconds off! Then i did my Breaststroke, the same day. I was off my best time by a few seconds. I wasnt terribly happy, but i knew that i was swimming Butterfly the next day, and Butterfly is my best stroke, when im in a swim meet. But my Butterfly was REALLY bad! from my start to my finish i did a bunch of things wrong. So now im moving up to the next division for 2 days a week, so i can get more practice.
Last night, it was Family movie night. We watched Jump In! which is a movie that you can see on Disney Channel. It was really good! i recommend it to anyone who likes Disney movies! it has great double Dutch moves, and songs.
I am reading a book called The Giver, by Lois Lowry. its a really good book, and i would recommend it to people who like the City Of Ember series, because it is so much like that!
Happy Easter and Passover!!!!!!

flip by david lubar

my latest favorite book is flip. it is about 2 kids that are twins, 1 boy, 1 girl. the boy doesn't care about school one bit! but the girl on the other hand, wold die if she got an A-. one day, the boy gets out of the house early, to find some sort of alien proof because he thought that he saw a UFO land near school the night before. they find disks, and if you flip them a certain way, you can turn into someone else. the thing is, you do not know what your going to turn into. like, one disk might turn you into Gandhi and the next disk might turn you into Brittany spears! this book was so good, i could hardly put it down!
i would recommend this book to my friends carly and Lea, because they like the same types of books i do, and they will really love this one!

book reviews/the secret languge of girls/ replay/ bridge to terabithia, and also swimming, and whats happining with it.

last fall, i started swimming for cheltenham aquatics club. its Cheltenhams swimteam, and we practiced at cheltenham high school. We practice at Arcadia University for the summer, but thats not as important. but i would like to complement the University, because the pool is fantastic. Anyway, when i first started, i was PRETTY BAD! all my strokes werent that great. of course, i didn't notice anything. until now! My strokes are getting great! my butterfly is much better than before, and so is my freestyle. in my backstroke, though, i tend to look behind me, which slows me down. but my breaststroke is my best stroke! i did time trials, which is where you time how long it yakes for you to do a lap, or how many laps you need to do in a meet, and even though i did 1 lap, when i normally do 2 laps, i beat my time, because i did it in less than half of what my time for 2 laps was. NNNNNN i am very proud of myself.
now, i will tell about the 2 books i read. my goal is to read atleast 25 books this summer.
the first book i read out of the 2, is The Secret Language Of Girls. it is about a girl named Kate, and her best friend Marylin. latley, Marylin has been thinking that Kate is getting to babyish. When a girl named Flannery moves into their neighborhood, Kate and Marylin go to meet her. she turns out to be a year older, and always thinks about herself. then, Flannery, and Marylin become friends, and start being mean to Kate. Can Kate become friends with Marylin before she turns into a horrible cheerleader, and starts thinking about how good she looks? read the book to find out.
if you like books that seem like they should be for teenagers, you will probably like this book.
the second book is called replay. its about a boy who wants to be in the school play. his name is Leo. his family is always running around, and his parents want to just get away. he has 2 other brothers and a sister. his sister, who is older, her name is Contento. his youngest brothers name is Nunzio. his middle brothers name is Pietro. Contento plays soccer, Pietro plays football, and Nunzio sings. Leo has 2 nicknames. sardine, and fog boy. he is called fog boy, because he likes to daydream. many times in the story, Leo daydreams. so when Leo gets the part as the Old Crone, which is an old lady, he gets very upset. he wanted the main part. dont be surprised if things happen, sad things, but no one dies. can Leo learn that just because he dosnt have the main part, that he is still important in the play?
the last book, which i acctullay read before the secret language of girls, is called bridge to terabithia, which is about a kid, who hates school. but when a girl moves in nextdoor, and goes to his school, they become friends. they come up with a magical land called terabithia, which you can only get to by swinging on a rope across a river with nothing in it. they have a ton of fun with terabithia, and no one knows about it. but then, something happens, that changes his life, and how he lookes at it.

book reviews/ the last treasure

I have finished 2 books since I last updated my blog. The second one will be in my next blog. The first one is called THE LAST TREASURE. It starts off with a boy named Ellsworth, who lives with his father because his mother and brother are dead. Ellsworth has a HUGE family background. A ton of things have happened in his past. On his birthday he gets a letter from his cousin Elizabeth, who is probably in her 50s or 60s. The letter says they need him to come down to the square. The square is where all his ancestors lived, his father even grew up there. They had moved away, along with a bunch of other family members. Ellsworth had never seen another one of his family members ever, besides his father. in the square there are 3 houses that have treasures in them. 2 of the 3 have already been found in the past. Ellsworth begs his father to let him go down there. he wanted to find the last treasure! His father gave him the ok, and Ellsworth was off to the square! It took a while for him to get there, though. He exepects to find Elizabeth when he gets there, but instead a woman named Kitty is waiting for him. She is with her daughter, jess. Can Ellsworth find the treasure? Will jess help him? When will he return to his father? Those are some questions you might ask! You should read the book to find out!

the pope john paul

this morning, when I went to hebrew school, I heard someone say, "did you know that john paul died?" he didn't say it to me, i just over heard it. when my dad and I were coming back from the grocery store, i asked, "who is john paul?" he answered," a pope." i thought he said a poet, so later i asked, " why are they talking so much about a poet?" "not a poet, a pope." when we got home, my mom was watching the news, and it was about how much john paul did. it was then i realized how much of a great person he was. the moral of the story is, to always respect when someone dies, even if it is someone all the way across the world, who you don't know and is barely know. so, when someone dies, always feel sorry for his or her family
a happy thought, every blog, i am going to try to put a new song on the page. this one is wake me up before you go go by wham
