They beat me to it

Here is a Google map mashup which plots active Seattle Fire Department 911 calls on a Google map.

I had told you before about how I monitor the real-time 911 log on the Seattle Fire Department's web site. Well, I got the idea that a person could mash that with Google maps and make a live-updating map of the fire calls. I am meeting tomorrow with a friend who programs for a living and I was going to suggest we do it.

Oh, well.

UPDATE: Now that I have looked at it for a while, I see that they map some of the incidents in the wrong places. Hmm. They will probably get that figured out -- or maybe I should go ahead with my version.
