Funereal SlurpeeIf you don't want to be buried when you die,
and the thought of getting cremated makes you squeamish, consider this new form
of body disposal: You can
be dissolved in a pressurized steel cylinder full of lye, and then be
poured down the drain.
It's kind of like burial at sea, except you
have to go through those big settling tanks on the edge of town
first.
So far, it's only legal in Minnesota and New Hampshire, and no funeral home yet has all the regulatory approvals. But they use this process to dispose of medical cadavers and dead animals all the time, and pouring your body syrup down the drain is already legal. So this method should be in place by the time you need it. Posted: Fri - May 9, 2008 at 10:21 AM |
