"A pretty girl ... is like a felony ..."

IowaHawk has just posted the second annual "Miss Hoosegow" contest, in which readers are invited "to determine who deserves the title of Iowa's most stunning arrestee."

Combing through the mugshots of female inmates of the Polk County Jail -- that's the county Des Moines is in -- IowaHawk has produced an array of fifteen lovelies in their orange-coveralled splendor, from which you may vote for one.

By luck (or design?) last year's winner has gotten herself locked up again, on a probation violation beef, and so is able to defend her crown this year.

All contestants are innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
