I’ve just finished reading this fascinating article describing one person’s political/philosophical journey out from what I would call leftist fundamentalism. It’s a long article but worth reading.

It’s valuable to see someone sketch the outlines of an ideology, to recognize that it’s a concrete thing that wants to spread from mind to mind, and not necessarily the result of independent thinkers coming to their own conclusions. Hillary Clinton accused a “vast right-wing conspiracy” of attacking her and Bill—and she was right, they were—but there is also a vast left-wing conspiracy at work in this country as well.

Hold onto your brains with both hands; it’s liable to be a rough ride over the next decade or so! Maybe, if we’re unlucky, even longer.
