Yet more temp records fallWell, we broke some all time records for average
daily temp (105°), all time record high low (93°). The AC on the house
is set at 80 and it ran continuously all day and peaked about 83 inside. Using
Goodwatts, I can tell the both units ran a
lot.
![]() As you can see, the downstairs AC unit began running about 11:00 (it was 110° at that time outside) and ran continously until about 2100. It drew 61 kWhand cost about $5.91 to run. Notice how the green line arcs above the blue line which indicates the thermostat setting. ![]() The upstairs unit ran continuously from about 1000 to about 2130 except for about 45 minutes around 1115 when the downstairs unit kicked in decreasing the load on the upstairs unit. We used 61 kWh of electricity and this unit cost us $5.68 to run. Lets look at the total household usage now. ![]() The meter was spinning pretty fast today with a total so far of 158 kWh used which is about $14.77 worth of electricity. The pool filter ran from 1500 until 0100. It draws about 1400 watts which is sizable but nothing like our 25 year old air conditioner units. More temperature records fall... Here is a listing of record temperatures observed so far today.
