Winter Storm

Pretty good storm today. First of all, it rained most of the day and it just stopped raining at 9:30 p.m. We got 0.70 inches of rain so far today for a year to date total of 5.50 inches. The Weather Service reported a record low high for the day of 48° which occurred near midnight. The old record low high was 49° back in 1983.

Of course the mountains are getting lots of snow and I-15 has been closed on and off all day ranging fro Cajon Pass to Mountain Springs. It has been snowing in Barstow, Kingman, Twenty-nine Palms, and 9 inches fell at Yucca Valley. CalTrans is reporting problems on I-15 between Daggett and Barstow. I'm glad I'm working at the Las Vegas Wash on Monday and not in California. In fact, it was a good day to stay at home.
