A First Look at Canon's Digital Rebel

The Digital Rebel is a 6.3 megapixed digital SLR that includes a wide angle zoom lens... for less than a $1,000 US. Is it too good to be true? We take it out for a field test.

After a day of shooting in Northern California's wine country, the Canon Digital Rebel performed with the ease and accuracy of its older sibling, the Canon 10D. The Rebel is lighter and not designed to be as durable, but its picture-taking prowess is just a powerful. This camera looks like a true winner and possibly the tipping point for many waiting for prices to fall within reach.
